MISSION
The mission of the department is teaching chemical engineers who; • have knowledge, susceptibility and examining ability for engineering solutions at universal and social extends considering raw material, energy, work safety, health, environment and ethics • set targets like lifelong learning, detection, determining, solving engineering problems related with environment, food, health, biotechnology, material science, polymer and nanotechnology • may generate innovative process and product technologies and may convert scientific developments to technology, production and value added products • use modern engineering technics, tools and informatics effectively.

Chemical engineering is an extensive and versatile engineering discipline which concerns developing and performing processes which may change chemical structures, energy content or physical properties of materials and solves problems with the help of mathematic, physic, biology and economy together with chemistry
WHO IS CHEMICAL ENGINEER?
Chemical engineer is a person who may synthesis, design and analysis by using their engineering knowledge on chemical, physical and biological systems.
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Chemical engineering department which involves unit operations, thermodynamics and energy technologies, process and reactor design and chemical technologies departments was established within engineering faculty at 1992. 1 doctor works at unit operations , 2 doctors work at thermodynamics and energy technologies, 2 associated prof work at chemical technologies and 1 associated prof works at process and reactor design and departments. In addition 8 research assistant work at the department.
SECTORS
Chemical engineers may study at university, research institutions, defence industry, and industrial facilities related with petrochemistry, polymer, medicine, fertilizer, automotive, food, textile, dye, glass, ceramic, cement, packing, surface coating and work as a process, quality control, sale, service engineer and director.
